Troika 1

Another piece is completed in my current cycle of clay works. Titled ‘Troika 1,’ this piece forms part of a three-piece ensemble made of reinforced clay, acrylic resin, acrylic paint, nail polish and toy soldiers. Photo at left shows detail of the antlers with the toy soldiers.

Got word that Graham’s Dream my entry in the annual art manifest Keizer Karel Podia in Nijmegen (Netherlands) has been nominated as one of the 10 finalists for the top three prizes out of nearly 200 entries.

All entries are on display at Nijmegen’s City Theater until end of this year. Announcement of winners will be on Friday. Crossing my fingers…

Home for Hadrian

Hadrian: reinforced clay, doll parts and acrylic paint

Just got word from the De Buytensael Gallery in Arnhem (Netherlands) that Hadrian, the title of a work in a recent group exhibition I was part of last month, finally found a home! This piece was the 6th in a set of seven works I finished summer of this year. As I am keeping two pieces for myself and a niece, all five pieces finally found their respective homes. Thank you to all art lovers out there for your support. This good result gives me a second wind for the next cycle…

A peek… a preview to a just finished piece which will form part of a longer series of clay/mixed techniques works. Hopefully the whole series will be completed by spring next year. Here is the piece  ‘Cavatina,’ made of reinforced clay, acryl resin, acrylic paint and found objects.
